What is OSNAP.net?
Simply put, we're a promotion machine. Our core goal is to gain more exposure for you - whether you're in a band, a soloist, a venue, a label, or even a radio show. Exposure to us means getting more fans out for your shows, buying your songs/albums, and tuning in. OSNAP.net is an enormous network of Web sites, tools, and relationships that are all geared to getting you the much deserved exposure you need to succeed.
So what's the big deal about promotion? Aren't there hundreds of companies out there just clawing to get into your pockets?
Yes, and that's what makes OSNAP.net so amazing:
WE DON'T WANT YOUR MONEY!
The most basic of features is our core: get live show information out to the world with no cost to artists, venues, promoters or vendors. We want as many people to experience a live event as possible.
We promote live events through posting and spreading live show information to social networks, automatically updating Web sites, funding flyer and other print promotions, even helping bands get a van rental at a discount.
OSNAP.net attempts to do all this using a very small team of workers and street teams across the US, many of which have full time day jobs or families. This helps keep our costs down and keep a "grassroots" mentality.
Features for Artists
For artists, our featureset is simple: Get people to your events in the largest numbers possible. We attempt this using these methods among others:
· Funding flyers and posters. · Grabbing your event info and posting it to other Web sites automatically. · Assisting in reduced-cost rental vans. · Providing Web space and streaming services. · Eliminating our costs to you. · Providing during and post-event media sharing (such as fans uploading photos and videos).
Features for Venues
Don't think that artists get all the glory, OSNAP.net is here to help venues as well. If a venue doesn't do well in ticket sales and providing a great experience to audiences, then the venue may close or reduce their shows. If this happens, then live music will suffer.
Many of the services for artists can also benefit a venue, such as assisting in ticket sales, Web promotion of events and "spreading the word."
Features for the rest of us
Are you a live music fan? Do you run a blog or fan Web site? Are you busting your buns on a local radio show? OSNAP.net can provide you with a deluge of useful data for your Web site, blog, radio show and more!
We've worked in the past to bring small-town radio hosts (ones that play local music) with extensive live event listings that otherwise would go unknown. We can send you video, photos, reviews and more to keep your sites up-to-date, your audience more informed, and even provide a new revenue stream!
Is OSNAP.net just more Web 2.0?
Short answer: No. OSNAP.net involves print, word of mouth, radio as well as online and mobile.
Long answer: Still no, but with a slight hint at "maybe." OSNAP.net stores its information online, uses many network data sharing tools that are foundations of Web 2.0, and sends the information across the Web into print and other "physical" channels.
We're about as Web 2.0 as any other 10+ year old service, which to us means we have Web 2.0 components, but we're too big to be labelled so basically.
Where have we been?
OSNAP.net began over ten years ago as a quickly growing network of live event information. At our peak we helped over 69,000 artists and supported over 3000 domains.
Things have certainly quieted down since those glorious days. The OSNAP.net team has moved around the country, been focused on their day jobs, and otherwise have "dropped the ball."
We hope this relaunch will bring live music support back to our main focus and are confident we can support numbers ten times what we've done in the past.
To get there, we'll need all the support of our users (that means you!). Sign up for more information, get your live events to us however you can, keep playing and supporting live shows and we'll do all we can to support you in exchange.
How do I get started?
To get started with OSNAP.net, simply fill the form at the bottom of this page. We'll take your info and put you into our system. Shortly thereafter we'll send you a message requesting more information (Your Web site(s), social networks you'd like to include, artists and bands you're in or represent, etc). The more information we can input to our system the better we can do to promote live music! All at no charge to you!
